How much does digital marketing cost for a small business in 2026? Real prices and what to ask
U.S. market price ranges, what each level should include and the questions to ask before signing with any agency.
It's the question every business owner asks and many agencies avoid answering. Here are real U.S. market ranges for 2026, so you walk into any conversation informed, whether it's with us or another agency.
Prices by service (monthly management, not including ad spend)
- Organic social media: $400 to $2,000 a month, depending on how many posts and platforms.
- Google Ads management: $1,000 to $2,500 a month, or 10% to 20% of your ad spend.
- Local SEO: $750 to $3,000 a month.
- Email marketing: $300 to $2,000 a month.
- CRM and email tools: $50 to $300 a month, often left out of the quote.

Full packages
- Starter level: about $500 to $1,500 a month, with one or two channels.
- Growth level: about $1,500 to $5,000, with several coordinated channels.
- Full service: $5,000 to $10,000 or more.
What makes the price go up or down
- How many channels are managed and how often.
- Whether original content (photos, videos) is created or reused.
- Whether it includes a website, CRM and automations.
- How competitive your industry and city are.
Seven questions before you sign
- Exactly what deliverables do I get each month?
- Is ad spend included or separate?
- How long is the contract? A first 90-day period, then month to month, is common.
- Who is my contact, and in what language will they work with me?
- What metrics will you report? (Ask for cost per lead, not just "likes.")
- Will the ad accounts, website and data be in my name?
- What happens if I want to cancel?
Cheap isn't the same as profitable
A low-cost "Instagram posts" package can end up expensive if it doesn't bring in customers. Often, two or three pieces done well (Google, reviews and fast replies) deliver more than a big, unfocused plan. Remember: digital marketing isn't just Instagram, and what you pay should be measured in customers, not followers.
Frequently asked questions
Is ad spend included in the agency's price?
Usually not. Management is one payment and what you spend on Google or Meta is another. Always ask.
How long should I wait to see results?
Ads can bring in leads within days; SEO and reputation take months. A first 90-day period is reasonable to evaluate.
What happens to my accounts if I switch agencies?
Your ad accounts, website and data should be in your name. Insist on it from the start.
